1. Are the games as per Grade level?
The are 3 Divisions:
Division I is for grades K and 1
Division II is for grades 2 and 3
Division III is for grades 4 and 5
2. What will the kids do during the sessions?
The kids will be taught 5 games during the club's duration (From Start - March/April). There will also be some pre-activities for the games.
3. Why has the Registration not happened yet?
The club at the school is entirely run ONLY by parent volunteers. That is why, if we do not get enough Coaches (for a particular division/session time), we CANNOT have a session. We are waiting for parents to sign up as coaches.
4. Is there a lot of work involved in Coaching and volunteering?
In case you are worried about the kind of work involved, rest assured that we will have orientations and information sharing by parents who have done it earlier.
5. What is the Tournament?
An Academic Tournament for each Division is held in March, April and May (depending on the division) in which kids may participate, if they choose. At the Tournament, our kids will play with children (in the same Grade) from other schools in the state.
6. Why do it?
Kids learn team spirit, how to lose gracefully. They have fun playing. They also learn problem solving and some math too!
7. How is the club structured in our school?
We will have 2 groups : Advanced group – all kids who have already been part of a Math Pentathlon club for their current Division (at England or elsewhere) and Beginners group – all kids who are in their Division for the first time.
